Narutodle

Guess the mystery Naruto character — then keep playing as many rounds as you like.

Narutodle is a character guessing game for anyone who grew up with the Hidden Leaf Village. A mystery character is picked for the round, and you work out who it is by naming characters and reading the clues the game gives back. Each guess narrows the field, so a name that is half right still moves you closer to the answer.

It is the same shape as the daily-word puzzles that started with Wordle — small, quick, and finishable in a couple of minutes — except the thing being tested is how well you know a cast of hundreds rather than how many five-letter words you can spell. DLE HQ runs the unlimited version: no once-a-day limit, no waiting until tomorrow, so you can chain rounds until your ninja knowledge runs out.

The board is text only. There is no portrait, no scene still, and no clip. You type a name, suggestions come from the bundled roster, and a submitted name returns six clues: gender, village, affiliation, nature, debut, and rank. Green, marked Exact, means that clue matches. Yellow, marked Partial, means it is only partly the same. Red, marked Miss, means it does not. A wrong name still tells you which groups to keep.

How to Play Narutodle

  1. Open the board. It loads right here on this page — no download, no install, no account.
  2. Name a character. Type any character you can think of and submit it.
  3. Read the clues. The game tells you how close your guess was, so you can tell whether you are getting warmer or colder.
  4. Narrow the field. Use each round of clues to rule out whole groups, then work through who is left.
  5. Finish and go again. When you find the character, start another round — the unlimited version lets you keep going.

Play free online, with no download

Narutodle is this page. Nothing is installed and nothing asks you to sign in. On a computer, click the frame, type a name, and press Enter. Arrow keys move through the suggestions, and Escape closes the list. On a phone, tap the box and then tap a name. The box is an ordinary text field, so the keyboard is the one already on the device.

A name that is not on the roster is refused and does not add a row. Submitting the same character twice does not add a second row. The newest name sits at the top of the log. Each clue is a labeled chip that says Exact, Partial, or Miss, so the color is not the only way to read it. Exact is green, Partial is yellow, and Miss is red.

How each clue is scored

Gender is Exact or Miss. The roster uses Male and Female, so one miss removes the other group.

Village is the home village: Konoha, Suna, Kiri, Kumo, Iwa, Ame, Oto, Kusa, Taki, Yuga, Iron, or None. It is Exact or Miss. A later team does not change the home village, which is why an Akatsuki member can still read as Konoha.

Affiliation is a set. The groups are Team 7, Team 8, Team 10, Team Guy, the Sand Siblings, Akatsuki, the Sannin, Anbu, Root, the Seven Swordsmen, Taka, Sound, Jinchuriki, and Samurai. Kiba is also listed as Inuzuka, and Shino as Aburame, so those two teammates are not the same row. Exact means the groups match. Partial means they share at least one group. Miss means they share none. None matches only None.

Nature is a set: Fire, Wind, Lightning, Earth, Water, and the named releases Wood, Ice, Lava, Magnet, Boil, Storm, Explosion, Dust, Yin, and Yang when that is the release the character is known for. Unknown means this roster does not assign one. None means the character does not use ninjutsu. Exact means the set matches. Partial means they share a release and not the whole set. Miss means no shared release.

Debut is an arc, labeled Naruto or Shippuden. Exact means the same arc. Partial means a different arc in the same series. Miss means the other series. Naruto runs Academy, Land of Waves, Chunin Exams, Konoha Crush, Search for Tsunade, and Sasuke Recovery. Shippuden runs Kazekage Rescue, Tenchi Bridge, Akatsuki Suppression, Itachi Pursuit, Jinchuriki Hunt, Pain's Assault, Five Kage Summit, and Fourth Shinobi War.

Rank pairs a title with Alive or Deceased at the end of Naruto Shippuden. The ladder is Academy Student, Genin, Chunin, Jonin, and Kage. Missing-nin, Anbu, and Outsider sit off the ladder. Exact means the title and the living status both match. Partial means the title is one step away, or the title matches and the living status does not, or a missing-nin is set beside a jonin, a kage, or Anbu, or both characters are deceased. Two living characters with unrelated titles stay Miss, because Alive would otherwise light up most of the board.

Narutodle Rules and Tips

Unlimited rounds once the character is found

Finding the name ends that round and shows New round. The next character does not wait until tomorrow. You can chain rounds for as long as you like. Refreshing also loads a different character. The names you had typed are dropped. The totals stored on the device are not.

Split the roster before you chase a name

Open on a Konoha genin, then an Akatsuki missing-nin, then a Kage from another village. Those three passes usually paint gender, village, affiliation, and rank. If debut comes back Partial, stay in that series and change the arc. If it comes back Miss, leave the series. After that, guess someone who still fits every chip, rather than another probe.

Narutodle vs Wordle

If you came here looking for daily games like Wordle, Narutodle is one of the closest cousins — the same one-puzzle-a-day rhythm, with anime knowledge standing in for vocabulary. Wordle gives you six tries at a five-letter word; this gives you a mystery character and as many guesses as you want. The only part DLE HQ drops is the wait: this is the unlimited version, so a new round is always one click away.

Wordle Unlimited on this site is still the five-letter word game: six guesses, then a new word when you want one. Narutodle spends the same guess-and-read loop on a cast. A miss here does not spend a limited budget. It labels six facts, and you may take as many of those labels as you need.
