Gamedle

Guess the video game from cover art, characters and clues — then keep playing unlimited rounds.

Gamedle is a guessing game for people who have spent too long looking at box art. A mystery video game is picked for the round, and you work out which one it is from its cover, its artwork, a character, or a set of keywords — the game is built around several daily modes, and each one shows you a different slice of the same answer.

Every guess comes back with more than a yes or no: the game tells you how close you were on things like franchise and saga, genre and theme, player perspective, game mode and age rating, so a wrong answer still narrows the field. There are three difficulty levels — an easy pass, a normal round, and an impossible one — plus unlimited modes for when you do not want to stop after a single round. DLE HQ runs it without the daily wait, so a new round is always available.

How to Play Gamedle

  1. Open the board. It loads here on the page — no download, no install, no account.
  2. Pick a mode. Cover art, Artwork, Character, Keywords, or a written Guess round.
  3. Name a game. Type any title you can think of and submit your guess.
  4. Read the breakdown. You get told how close you were on franchise, genre, perspective, game mode and age rating — use each line to rule options out.
  5. Use a clue or a skip if you are stuck. Then move on to the unlimited modes and keep going.

Play free online, with no download

Gamedle is this page. The board is the frame at the top. Nothing is installed and nothing asks you to sign in. On a computer, click the frame, pick Keywords or Guess, type a title, and press Enter. Arrow keys move through the suggestions, and Escape closes the list. On a phone, tap the box and then tap a title. The box is an ordinary text field, so the keyboard is the one already on the device.

Two mode buttons are on the board: Keywords and Guess. Three difficulty buttons sit under them: Easy, Normal, and Impossible. Clue and Skip sit on the same row. The pressed mode and the pressed difficulty are the round you are in. Switching either one starts that round immediately. New round, in the header, leaves the current puzzle. The same words appear again when you solve one, or when you skip, and that button starts another puzzle with the same mode and difficulty.

Suggestions come from the whole bundled catalogue, on every difficulty. A string that is not a title or a listed alias is refused and does not count. Submitting the same title twice does not count twice. The line under the buttons tells you what the last action changed.

How the written Guess round is scored

Guess is the written round. You type a title and get six labeled lines back. Each line shows the value from the title you typed, not the hidden answer. Exact is green. Partial is yellow. Miss is red. The word is on the chip, so the color is not the only way to read it.

Franchise is the saga name. Exact means the saga matches, so the right series and the wrong entry still lights that line. Partial means a cousin series in the same universe: Mario Kart against a Super Mario game, or Hearthstone against Warcraft. Miss means no shared universe.

Genre, theme, and game mode are sets. Exact means the set matches. Partial means they share at least one label and not the whole set. Miss means they share none. Perspective is one label. Exact means the same view. Partial means both are overhead, top-down or isometric, or both are a camera on a person, first-person or third-person. Side view, text, and a fixed board are Exact only with themselves. Rating shows ESRB and PEGI together. Exact means both labels match. Partial means each scale is at most one step away. The ESRB order is E, E10+, T, M. The PEGI order is 3, 7, 12, 16, 18. A wider gap on either scale is Miss.

Gamedle Rules and Tips

Unlimited rounds on every difficulty

Solving a round ends it and shows New round. The next game does not wait until tomorrow. You can chain Keywords and Guess, and you can change difficulty between them, for as long as you like. Leaving with the header New round is not a solve. Skip is not a solve either. Found counts solved rounds. Streak counts solved rounds in a row. A solve adds one to both, and it records the guess count when that count is lower than Best. Refreshing starts another round and leaves the three numbers as they were. There is no daily lock and no account gate.

Gamedle vs Wordle

Gamedle sits in the same seat as the rest of the daily games like Wordle crowd — one puzzle, a couple of minutes, a result worth sharing — but it is one of the richer versions of the format. Instead of five letters you get cover art, cast, keywords and a set of attributes that each answer feeds back. And unlike the original daily game, this version does not make you wait: the unlimited modes are open whenever you want them.

Wordle Unlimited on this site is still the five-letter word game. Gamedle spends the same short sitting on a video-game catalogue. A miss does not spend a limited budget. In Guess, a miss labels six facts. In Keywords, a miss spends nothing but the next word. Either way, the next round is the New round button, not tomorrow.
